Clark, CJ and the Cowboys

Sunday, CJ was able to go with Clark to the Cowboys game at the new stadium. Here are the pictures! Because I am using this blog as sort of a diary/scrapbook of the sweet things that CJ says, I want to remember that I received this text from Clark after they arrived. They were close to the cheerleaders and CJ said to Clark, "Those mommies are pretty like my mommy." He somehow finds the sweetest things to say. He amazes me how he stops to notice a "pretty" shirt that I have on or jewelry or shoes or really whatever he can call pretty. I hope he always compliments the women in his life. When they got home he gave me a real sweet smile and said, "Did you have fun with the babies mommy?"

Not Again!!!

Last night I thought that Marky wasn't eating because he had been filling up on CJ's leftovers but tonight I found out differently. About 11:00 pm last night Mark woke up screaming and he rarely ever wakes up after we put him to bed. He was making these sounds like his throat was hurting but that was all we could really tell. He woke up from his nap today doing the same thing. It wasn't until I put him in the bathtub tonight that I finally saw what was making him act so unlike our sweet Marky...he has hand, foot and mouth again, despite us trying to keep him sanitized and away from other kids during this season of sickness.

Marky Lately

Lately we've noticed that Mark hasn't been eating as much as he normally does...but tonight I think I finally put two and two together. Marky has always been our biggest eater. He would eat anything. I used maybe 5 jars of baby food with him and then I started mixing our food with his rice cereal when he was probably 5 months old. I've tried it lately with Peyton since he is 5 months, and every time I have to start over with Peyton's food. He just gags if there is anything that is not completely smooth! Mark would eat CJ's leftovers because we would give it to him if he acted like he was still hungry. Why waste food, huh?

Nowadays, after I clean Mark up from his meal, CJ is usually still eating. Once CJ finishes, he wonders off and usually I am tending to the other two bathing, changing diapers etc. He leaves his food on the table until I can get back in the kitchen to clean up. In the meantime, Mark finds his way back in the kitchen to make my clean-up job much easier and this just might be why he isn't eating as much of his own meals...

This is Mark back up on the table eating the rest of CJ's pizza.

This morning, finishing CJ's Raisin Bran...

Fair Day 2009, this one will make you laugh!!

Good boys all day!

We had such a great time.

A few things that happened today...
When we got into the fair gates there was a ride that CJ really wanted to go on but he wasn't tall enough and he couldn't ride with an adult so he was sooooo sad...he had the saddest face and started crying. We thought that was going to be the start of a not so fun mood day but it wasn't! Thank God!
After we ate our corny dogs "honey dogs" as CJ called them, we were pushing the stroller through crowds of people and there was this one man that was disgruntled to have to move out of the corny dog line so we could push our "bus" through...Clark pushed the stroller through and I was with CJ behind them...as we moved past that man, CJ deliberately took one step closer to him and pushed him but it wasn't where anyone would have really known what just happened-he did it discreetly where only CJ, that man and myself really knew what happened. It caught me off guard that he actually picked up on the fact that the man didn't want to move so instead of saying "Now CJ...." I just laughed at the guy, "thinking my 3-year just figured out that you were being a real a** and he just called you out with a little shove for your own good!" Now who all in our family, and extended family does that sound like!!!???

Then a little later, we went by this huge iron elephant and CJ and Mark just had a blast. A couple minutes went by and we turned around to see CJ's little white rear end facing us...he was peeing, after all, we were outside. "Pull your pants up CJ!" Then Clark said, "we don't potty outside...uh...unless we're at home!"

We were so excited for the Backyard Circus and we just knew this year CJ was old enough to be in it. CJ sat so quietly at the front by himself...it was so sweet to see him sit so nicely. We told him to raise his hand when there was a part of the circus that they needed kids to participate in...when that time came, he would raise his hand for a little bit, then put it down before the guy could see it. We yelled a few times, "Raise your hand!" but he couldn't hear us. He would have been perfect for the lions and tigers part. When he didn't get picked, Clark and I were so sad. We could see our baby sitting up at the front so sweetly, our hearts sank. Clark said, "let's go, we never get picked for this damn circus." It was so sad to see him sad. We decided to spend our time at the petting zoo and the little farm area for kids. They had fun there!!

After we were about to be home, CJ was talking to us from the back seat and out of the blue he said, "I'm going to throw Mommy and Daddy up to Jesus and God in the sky because they'll really like it there." Where he got this, I don't know! His mind is so imaginative.

Today, our Peyton is 5 months old! He is such a great baby and we love him so much! This time last year, I was about 3 months pregnant with Peyton and Mark was just 5 months old...and I will admit, I was worn out going up the stairs to feed Mark in the middle of the night while wanting to throw up with morning sickness that started late at night...although I always new Peyton was a real blessing and we have enjoyed him so much. He is so full of joy and has one of the best little baby smiles and giggles!

He was real tickled at something here!!

On another note...
Here are a few things about CJ from this week.

We were laying next to each other during nap time yesterday and I asked him if he wanted some covers and he acted so delighted to be laying there next to me since we are trying to make him stay in his own bed at night. I said, "This is right where you want to be, all cuddled up with mommy." Yeah, "Not with daddy, but I do love to 'love on daddy'." He had such a sweet smile when he said that and he's right, he sure does love to "love" on his daddy.

But then, after a whirlwind of an evening of picture taking, CJ came in the kitchen and unloaded every bit of Tupperware out of the cabinet. We were making him pick up every bit of it by himself since it was like he was doing this to spite us...he picked up quite a bit of it and then put his hands over his eyes and leaned his head on his knees then said, "You don't love me." We stopped what we were doing and tried to explain to him that we always love him no matter what and that Jesus always loves him too. So this morning when he woke up, he was trying to hide from me as he always does when he first wakes up so I started singing, "Jesus loves me this I know..." and I said, "Humm I wonder if CJ can sing that song?" Hoping that maybe he would sing along. Well, once he appeared from hiding he came and sat on the kitchen floor and yelled, "WHERE'S MY PANCAKES? ...Jesus loves the grass."
Better luck tomorrow maybe!

One more sweet thing...at least it was meant to be sweet!

CJ shows his love for his brothers often-sometimes its more tough love but other times he is very sweet and uses great words to describe how much he loves his brothers. He says things like, "Oh he's my precious" or "Oh he's so cozy". Today he told me that Marky and Peyton were his "babies" not mine. Then he wanted to know if they love him. Of course I said yes they do love you CJ.

Last night we were looking at some pictures that I had taken that day and we got to the picture below of Peyton and CJ, wanting to say something very endearing, said, "Oh he's so crappy!" but then he quickly looked at me to see if that was the right word to use. Obviously it wasn't!

More pics of the boys!

This is probably one of the cutest stages...this Marky is such a sweetheart.

Silly CJ posing after Little Sluggers.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPPY!!!

Today is Poppy's birthday and we celebrated last weekend. Here are a few of those memories! We hope you have a great day!

Is he back?

From my last post you all read about CJ and his terrible 3's. I have a few updates on sweet boy..maybe he just took a little vacation!

Yesterday, CJ ran into the bathroom and said mommy, "come look at my traffic...its bumper to bumper."

When Clark got home and finished eating I decided that I would let CJ have some dessert with his daddy even though it was little late. I checked with Clark first since I knew he wanted CJ to get in bed early (we are trying to make sure they are getting good rest through this flu season). I said to Clark, "Do you think CJ should have some C-A-K-E (spelled this out just in case the answer his answer was no)?" We decided that he could have the cake but when CJ finished with is bowl he said, "Mommy can I have some more of that E-C-A-K?" I was confused at first and then I thought, oh my goodness, how smart was that!

Yesterday morning I needed to go get Marky out of his bed but Peyton was already sitting in his highchair so I asked CJ to talk to Peyton while I went to get Mark. I came back down to see CJ singing his ABCD's to Peyton to sooth him! I snapped the pic after I put Marky in the chair and CJ sang twinkle, twinkle little star!

This is us going to Little Sluggers...packed all tightly in the backseat.

One of the best things about being home with the boys is the ability to have conversations with them in the car when we are running errand etc....Monday CJ said looking into my rear view mirror at me, hand to his heart, " Mommy Jesus and God are in my heart."

Then while I was touching up make-up and hair, he came in the bathroom and said to me, "Mommy you look so pretty when you get dressed." One of the things that I always hoped my boys would do is to learn how to complement people and I think so far he has done well!
So...maybe our sweet boy is back :)

Terrible 3's?

From the time CJ woke up this morning to the time he went to bed tonight he's shown signs of the terrible 2's...but he's not 2 he's 3...shouldn't this have ended at 3? I doubt it.

What's for breakfast?
Me: Biscuits with honey..mmmmm, that sounds good doesn't it?
CJ: I don't want biscuits, biscuits are YUK!
Me: Well, too bad, we're not going to start our day like this Mr. CJ.

In the car after church, Clark starts listening to the Cowboys game...
CJ: TURN THAT OFF...TURN MY SHOW ON..NOW!
Me: Sorry, CJ we'll be home soon.
CJ: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, TURN MY SHOW ON!
Me: Sorry, not with that attitude.

At naptime after he had gotten out of his bed and I made him sleep in my bed while I prepared for dinner...
CJ: I DON'T WANT TO TAKE A NAP...YOU TAKE A NAP!

At dinner...
He got into the cake after we repeatedly told him to stay out of it and that it was Poppy's cake so we were going to wait to cut it. Then, right as we were about to cut it....he stuck his tongue out and licked the cake.

Finally, he is bed and I hope he sleeps a full night in his own bed because that might be just what he needs!!

Laundry, hunting, wrestling.....etc.

All of these things are fun for the boys and although I wish the first was more fun for me...but, these little toots make it harder!

Wrestling...

Rabbit hunting...

Laundry...

A few more things from today...

Who doesn't need safety glasses when running a race-"you could get your eyes knocked out". He won...see the Chuckee Cheese medal!

~~Marky crawled up on the table and ate the rest of CJ's lunch while CJ was looking in the pantry for "something sugary"...he saw Marky eating his lunch and said, "you're nuts Marky, you're nuts you just ate my lunch". The things he picks up on!

~~~Clark and CJ were watching Superman and CJ was asking questions about when people die...He asked,
"Are you going to die Daddy?"
Clark said, "Not for a long time."
"Am I going to die?
Clark said, "Not for a long time."
CJ said, "But I don't want to leave my mommy."
"Where do people go when they die?
Clark said, "They go to Heaven and that's where we will all be together someday."
"Are there presents in Heaven?"
Clark said, "Lots of presents CJ."
"Can we open them?"
Clark said, "Yes, everyday!"
Can I just take one alone?
Just when I thought I could take a bath by myself, I started to draw my water and then went into the bedroom...when I came back I had a visitor in my bathtub. I first thought, ok, I'll get him out and changed and if the diaper is clear then I won't have to fill the tub again. Well, sure enough, the diaper was terrible but you can see, Marky didn't care a bit!! He certainly had to have a bath after that...and now one more thing to have to watch, Marky getting into the bathtub all by himself.
Daddy's Day!
Today is Clark's birthday! He said he feels like this is a pretty insignificant birthday being that he turned 31 (I guess last year he thought was more significant since it was his 3oth), but we still think every birthday is one to celebrate and especially for him since he is such a wonderful daddy to our three boys! They absolutely love their daddy! We put up the birthday sign for him yesterday and Marky kept looking at it going, "Oooohh, aaawhhh". CJ said he wanted to pick out something from his toy box to give to daddy since "he's such a sweet daddy". We've done birthday breakfast and birthday lunch and last night we did his birthday dinner. What do you say, I think its still a good time to celebrate!
Birthday Dinner
Birthday Breakfast
Birthday Lunch
What do you think?
I have been told several times lately that Mark looks just like Clark and that CJ looks just me but that everyone is uncertain who Peyton looks like just yet. So here are a few pictures of us around the same ages as CJ and Mark were when we took these pictures!
and here's Peyton...still not sure about who he looks like!
So...what do you think?
